VIDERE (to see, to consider, to reflect upon)
VIDERE is the video highlighter App for 21st century learning. It makes the power of video analysis, reflection, and study accessible to everyone.
The study of video is considered a necessary process for improving performance in many professions. Can you imagine a professional athlete who did not study video to improve technique or a surgeon who did not study video to learn a new procedure? In education, video is used too infrequently to improve teaching, in part because of the expense, but more importantly because of the time required to prepare, analyze, and view it.
VIDERE, an app only for the iPad, makes it possible to easily create and study classroom video (or video of any performance activity)—and in the process provide the opportunity to focus on the activities and techniques known to be most important for 21st century learning.
This is how VIDERE works:
1. First, record video on your iPad.
2. Then, code the video using VIDERE (it’s as simple as tapping a button while the video plays)
3. Finally, play back only your selected clips for review as you coach a peer, supervisee, or student.
VIDERE includes seven critical classroom activity codes for 21st Century learning. Additional codes can be created, or the included ones renamed, to allow focus on what you believe are the most critical aspects of learning.
VIDERE videos can be imported from your Camera Roll or recorded using the App. The number and length of your VIDERE library is limited to the available memory on your device.
